This May, Student Medicover participated in the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo in beautiful San Diego, California, as a valued partner committed to supporting international education. At NAFSA 2025, we connected with educators, advisors, and school partners from around the world to strengthen our mission of providing comprehensive insurance and support solutions for students studying in the U.S.
Our presence at NAFSA 2025 marked not just another year of participation, but a renewed commitment to serving a broader student community. In addition to international student health insurance, we proudly introduced three major solutions that now also include domestic students and group programs—expanding our mission to support students of all backgrounds in the U.S.

The atmosphere at NAFSA 2025 was shaped by recent headlines and growing policy uncertainty. In light of recent developments affecting international student enrollment, many institutions are rethinking how to better support their global student populations.
We noticed this shift firsthand in conversations with international student offices. School representatives shared concerns about visa trends and compliance, and emphasized a growing need for services that go beyond basic health insurance—such as mental health support, student success tools, and reliable bilingual services.

Even though the atmosphere felt tense, there was still a strong sense of hope and shared responsibility. As educators and service providers working with international students, everyone we met expressed a deep commitment to supporting students in the U.S., no matter the challenges.

At this year’s event, we introduced a new and more complete service structure, now supporting three key student groups:
(1). International Student Health Insurance
Designed for F-1, J-1, and OPT students, our plans meet school waiver requirements and start at just $2.27 per day. They include nationwide PPO coverage, mental health support, and 100% bilingual service.
(2). Domestic Student Health Insurance (SHIP)
Our SHIP solution is designed for universities seeking comprehensive insurance support. We offer affordable university insurance plans through the UHCSR Coalition Situs Plan—a viable solution that provides students with the medical and behavioral health coverage they need throughout their education, on campus, or on the road. In addition to delivering robust coverage, we assist schools with enrollment processing and waiver administration, simplifying insurance management while supporting student well-being.
(3). Small Group Student Health Insurance
Our Small Group Enrollment offers customized health insurance solutions for international student groups such as summer camps, study abroad programs, exchange programs, and international student athletes, among others—providing streamlined enrollment, competitive rates, and dedicated support.
