Student Medicover health insurance plans are designed to give ESL students reliable access to healthcare across the United States by combining comprehensive insurance benefits with dependable support services.
Student Medicover is the exclusive international partner of UHCSR, which processes all claims and gives students access to the nationwide UHC Choice Plus network, including more than 1 million physicians and 6,000 hospitals.
In addition, Student Medicover offers a licensed support team available around the clock to help students and families understand their benefits, find care, and navigate the U.S. healthcare system with confidence. For eligible in-network procedures, the plan provides up to 100% coverage, helping reduce medical costs and giving families greater peace of mind.
ESL students are eligible to enroll in Student Medicover plans, including Prime 500, Prime 100, Elite, and Supreme.
The Supreme Plan is one of the most popular options because it not only provides top-level medical benefits, but also includes a series of additional benefits offered by Student Medicover.
It depends on your school’s policy. Some schools may require ESL students to maintain comprehensive health insurance coverage for the duration of their program. In that case, you may need to submit a waiver application to your school.
Regardless of your school’s policy, it is important to remember that healthcare in the United States can be expensive, especially for international students without insurance. Student Medicover plans help protect students and their families from high medical costs related to doctor visits, urgent care, emergency treatment, prescription drugs, hospitalization, and other medical needs.
Student Medicover also has a licensed support team to help members understand their benefits, find care, and use their insurance with confidence.
It depends on your school’s policy. Some schools may require ESL students to have health insurance for the duration of their program and may ask students to submit a waiver application.
If your school has waiver requirements, you should follow the instructions and coverage criteria provided by your school.
The minimum coverage period is 90 days for the Prime 100 and Prime 500 plans, and 180 days for the Elite and Supreme plans.
Most ESL students enroll for the full duration of their studies. If your school has specific health insurance coverage requirements, you can follow the coverage criteria set by your school.

"Wow, I’ve been using the Student Medicover Prime 100 Plan for a year, and it’s amazing! I had over $11k in claims, but only paid $1.7k to the hospital. Feels like I paid just 10%! Huge relief!".
"My face swelled up badly after accidentally eating a peanut pie at a party. The Student Health Center had no appointments, so I found an in-network urgent care center through the SM website. The walk-in was quick and easy — a total lifesaver!"
"Huge shoutout to their customer service—Emma was amazing! She even called CVS to check the stock for me, saving me so much time!"
"The medical insurance for international students is great. lt's much lower than the insurance provided bythe university. l visited an urgent care for UTl several weeks ago. l received two lab tests and one injection. All l will pay is just around 30 bucks. The bill is much better than l expected."
"Their customer service team always got my back when I need it🙌. First time going to the doctor in the U.S., I was confused, but Taylor was 10/10 and explained everything. Claim takes some time, but overall, very good!"
